Why, When, and Where

Monthly meetings bring NIFP members together to share their work, offer feedback, and ask questions about the process. Each month we try to present a great guest speaker to share experience from the production, writing or directing background of video, TV and film. We've even started asking guests to discuss HD filmaking; the quality, costs, and ease of use factors that are shaping this new era of digital High Def cinema.

When does NIFP meet?

We have some news! We still meet on the second Wednesday of every month but now at 6:00 pm to be nice to our growing number of Omaha members. Here are the dates that the next few meetings will occur:

Where does NIFP meet?

We are experimenting with multiple meeting sites. We regularly meet at the Mary Riepma Ross Theatre, but also enjoy the State Theater downtown. If you have ideas for a meeting space that is friendly to indie film discussion and consumption of adult beverages, let us know! That includes Lincoln/Omaha/SE Nebraska!

NIFP was a member of AIVF for many years. They hosted monthly salons as a member of the Association for Independent Video and Filmmakers. AIVF had nearly 5,000 members internationally and was known for the support and resources it offers independent artists. AIVF ceased doing business in June 2006. NIFP is also members of NAMAC, www.namac.org, a national organization that is committed to furthering the media arts.
