Hello to all!

The time for the August NIFP meeting has arrived. This month, we will be meeting at the State Theatre on downtown O Street from 5:30 pm to 7pm. Don't worry folks. Next month we will be back at the Ross and back to the normal meeting time of 6pm. And don't forget to check out Savage Grace and Up The Yangtze playing at the Ross right now!

This meeting will offer up drinks, fellowship, and filmmaking. Any short films brought to the meeting will be shown from 5:30-6pm. After this time, we will adjourn to the front bar area.

We have several exciting guests to bring to you this month. Arts and Entertainment writer, L. Kent Wolgamott, and Online Editor, Steve Smith, will be joining us from the Lincoln Journal Star. They will be introducing HuskerExtra.com's Inaugural Fan Film Fest. More information on this topic can be found on our website, www.nifp.org.

Our friends and awesome MON 08 sponsors, from the Omaha Film Festival, will be traveling down, if scheduling allows. Let's keep our fingers crossed for good weather! There are some exciting new things going on with OFF. Make sure to check out the article from Movie Maker Magazine, Issue 76, Volume 15 – Summer 2008 on page 110 about OFF.

Of course, don't forget that you will get to see some new films at our meeting. You'll meet new people as well!

Middle of Nowhere 08 is almost upon us. The commercial has wrapped and the wicked editing skills of Dorothy Booraem have been put to use. We are receiving entries for MON. Don't forget to get your entry sent off by the deadline, Sept 12!!! You can also pre-order your MON 08 t-shirt by downloading an order form from our website and popping it in the mail.
