Ken Burns is coming to Lincoln
Ken Burns, whose acclaimed documentaries include “The Civil War”, “Baseball”, “The West” and “The War”, will be in Lincoln on Oct. 16 to show a slice of his latest project.
Burns will appear at the Rococo Theatre to preview his new documentary, “The National Parks: America’s Best Idea.” The documentary features the words and images of Edward and Margaret Gehrke, a Lincoln couple whose adventures through the nation's roads in the early 1900s animate America’s experience in the national parks.
Proceeds will support the Nebraska State Historical Society’s photographic and manuscript collections.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the presentation will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets, which range from $25 to $50, are available by calling the Nebraska State Historical Society Foundation at (402) 435-3535 or 888-515-3535. A portion of the ticket price is tax-deductible.
