FOREIGN AND RARE DVD'S FOR SALE SOON!

Cultiva Coffee selling DVD collection

Last month, Jon Ferguson, owner of Cultiva Coffee Roasting Co., 1501 South St., created Lincoln’s first coffeeshop/video store. He bought 3,600 DVDs from downtown’s Spindle Records, a collection that included independent, foreign and rare flicks.

But the experiment has failed. Now, Ferguson is trying to sell the collection, movie by movie.

“It wasn’t working fast enough,” he said. “After about a month I was kind of thinking about the amount of inventory and labor, and I just didn’t think it was worth it. Just the overall rental business is going down pretty fast.”

Ferguson said he has talked to quite a few people who are saddened by the idea of this sort of collection not being available in Lincoln anymore.

“I’ve just got to let it go,” he said, “and get over the fact that it’s not going to be here.”
