VOLUNTEER at the Omaha Film Festival- PERKS!

Holy Cow! Where did this last year go?! More than a year of planning has gone into this year's festival including the movie line up, conference and all the events surrounding the OFF and I'm very excited to have a lot of you back and helping again this year as well as to welcome all of our new volunteers! This will be our best year yet.

Most of you have worked with the festival before and have a feel for the area that you like to work in. There is a spreadsheet to fill out with your availability. It is divided into areas (tic sales, merch sales, doors, etc) so be sure that you are marking the correct area. There's even an area for you newbies who aren't sure where you would like to work. Putting an X in a particular date/time does NOT guarantee that you will get those hours but I will not schedule you to work on days that you aren't available. Return your spreadsheet to Julie by February 15th.

Note: All volunteers are required to work at least 10 hrs. If you can not commit 10hrs during the week you may wish to consider being a festival parent. Rather than work the festival we are asking for people to donate food to help feed the volunteers. If you are interested in helping this way please put an X next to 'festival parent' and I will contact you to discuss. Also, I know a lot of you like to work all day on Saturday. That's awesome and you'll get breaks throughout the day to eat or leave for awhile, just be sure that you put an X in all the shifts you want to work.

Mark you calendars and plan to attend the Volunteer Meeting on February 28th at our OFFice at 2626 Harney St at 6pm. We'll hand out your shirts, review responsibilities and answer questions. We’ll also plan to watch a few of this year’s short films. It’s a great way to meet the rest of the group and find out who you will be working with. Watch for an email with more information in the near future.

As always, feel free to call Julie at 850-1560. Or email starr(at)huntel(dot)net

One last note...If you are unavailable to help out this year please drop me a quick line so I can remove you from my mailing list.

I look forward to talking to you all soon!
