This is the TWELFTH year for OFF and the list of films is insane this year. It’s an insanely well-run festival featuring Nebraska shorts AND quality films straight outta Sundance or on their way to distribution. Check this out: Omaha Film Festival is a nonprofit and needs volunteers to run smoothly. If you volunteer ten hours of your time, you get a badge that gets you into every film, conference guest speakers including Yolanda Ross, and the awesome afterparties. Worth more than $90. You meet awesome people, PERIOD. It’s a great time. To get on this rollercoaster, visit their website and then email Julie Matthews, volunteer coordinator. Email: starr at

Tues – 5-8:30 Opening Nite – we only show I movie and then we go across the street to Cheeseburger in Paradise to party. I don’t need many volunteers that evening but I like to invite all the volunteers to come out and enjoy the evening and see how the festival is set up and run and to meet everyone.

Wed, Thur, Fri – 5-10p

Party needs – 10p-11:30ish

Saturday – 9a-10p

Party needs – 10p-11:30ish

Sunday – 10:30a-6:30p

Party needs – immediately following

For the parties they need someone sitting at the doors checking passes and taking cash. It’s easy but since the parties don’t start until late it isn’t for everyone. All volunteers are required to put in at least 10 hrs during the festival. Thanks! Julie.
