Heads up we are meeting this month at the new Collective Space across the street from Turbine Flats inside The Bay (2005 Y St, Lincoln, NE 68503). Join us for an educational meeting featuring special guest Michael Burton from Lincoln Short Film Festival. Entries for this contest are due March 29th, with in in-progress final late deadline of April 15th. Join us at this special event designed to show off The Bay’s new Collective, a friendly creative space featuring brand new iMac workstations for members and guests to work on digital media projects. Michael will give a quick overview on some tips and tricks he’s learned over the years on animation, rotoscoping, and greenscreen.

ABOUT The Lincoln Short Film Festival 2019:

The 2019 Lincoln Short Film Festival welcomes short films by producers and directors from Nebraska, Colorado, South Dakota, Kansas, Iowa and Missouri. Films will be screened on the Cube, a 750 sq. foot LED screen in the Railyard district that sits directly across from the Pinnacle Bank Arena. Lincoln Short Film Festival and Cube Art Project are digital and media arts initiatives sponsored by the City of Lincoln Nebraska.

This year we are seeking film shorts, experimental films, documentaries, and animations under 20 minutes in length.

$2000 in cash awards:

Best Animation/ Experimental Film – $500
Best Documentary – $500
Best Narrative Short – $500
Best Student Film (any category) – $500

Deadline: March 29th 2019 – Films in final draft stages are welcome to submit with a final cut deadline April 15th

Films will be screened on the large three-dimensional monitor (the Cube) on May 3rd. Hundreds of people see the Cube on a slow day, but it’s also right next to the Pinnacle Bank Arena which hosts large events that draws tens of thousands of people several times a week.
